STEP ONE
Work out what your bottom line is.
This is what amount of money do you NEED on a monthly basis to cover. bills/rent/mortgage/living costs?
What is the minimum amount of money you need to survive?
STEP TWO
Taking the figure you come up with from STEP ONE, tune in with yourself and ask yourself honestly the following questions:
“On a scale of 1-10, if I was to never earn more than this figure per month for the rest of my life, how satisfied would I be (10 being most satisfied and 1 being unsatisfied”
STEP THREE
What is the monthly income figure that FEELS REALISTIC to you to be able to earn right now. What is the figure that feels like it is achievable?
STEP FOUR
Taking the figure you come up with from STEP THREE, tune in with yourself and ask yourself honestly the following questions:
“On a scale of 1-10, if I was to never earn more than this figure per month for the rest of my life, how satisfied would I be (10 being most satisfied and 1 being unsatisfied)”
STEP FIVE
Now, raise the figure in step three by £1000 and repeat the question.
“On a scale of 1-10, if I was to never earn more than this figure per month for the rest of my life, how satisfied would I be (10 being most satisfied and 1 being unsatisfied)”
STEP SIX
Keep raising the figure by £1000 until you reach a 9/10 satisfaction level. Write down the figure that you arrive at.
STEP SEVEN
With that figure in mind, tune in and ask yourself honestly how achievable does that figure feel right now?
Write down any fears or negative thoughts that come up for you when thinking about working towards this financial goal.
For example:
You may experience the fear of “to make this kind of money will mean huge amounts of sacrifice. Or, you may feel like achieving this income goal is so out of reach that there is no point in even trying to reach that goal.
STEP EIGHT
Now, find your financial sweet spot.
This is the figure which is on the borderline of excitement and fear. It’s the point at which your feelings go from “this is a figure that lights me up and excites me” to “this feels scary and out of my reach. You should find the figure where excitement shifts into fear. This is your financial sweet spot.
