BONUS: Identify Subconcious Beliefs

Pick a goal, preferably one where you feel like you would like to make a change in your life, something that you would like to achieve. For example, you could choose to daydream about earning £10,000 a month, writing a best seller or being on stage.

Find a quiet place, where you can sit without interruptions and start thinking about actually doing this. Listen to all the thoughts that make you feel nervous or afraid.

Listen to the thoughts that are telling you why this is a ridiculous fantasy and why it would never really happen.
Write anything that you can think of that would stop you from achieving this goal.
Write down any reasons that you think you might not actually want this goal, or any doubts about yourself and your abilities. Keep writing as long as you can, even if you feel like what you are writing sounds ridiculous.

Next, think very carefully about each of the negative thoughts that come up and deter you from going after that goal, because herein lie your limiting beliefs around that subject.
Do this exercise everyday, for a week, without going back and looking at the previous days.
At the end of the week, go back and review everything you have written. What line of thinking is emerging as your biggest reservation?

Can you see a pattern of beliefs or thinking that are keeping you from really reaching for this goal?

Finally, once you have done this for a week, pretend that your best friend has this same goal.

What do you tell her? Where do you encourage her? What do you warn her about?

Listen to these thoughts in the same way.

How are they the same or different as when you talked to yourself?
What does this tell you about your beliefs?
